Caring for your flowers

We hope you are enjoying your lovely flowers! Sadly, flowers are perishable but there are some things that can be done to make them last as long as possible. Some blooms are extremely hardy and long lasting. There are other blooms that are not as long lasting. We treat the flowers with preserving agents and care techniques to maximize their vase life. Feel free to contact us if you would like additional information.

Please do not use any homemade “flower food”. If you choose to use a commercially available flower food solution, mix it in accordance to the enclosed instructions. Improper ratios of solution to water can cause burned leaves and flowers as well as speed bacterial growth.

For arrangements in water, regular water changes will slow the bacteria that contributes to decay. Adding a few drops of bleach with the new water can slow the bacterial growth.A small trim of the stems when the water is changed will help the flowers to continue to drink.

For arrangements in foam will need water added regularly. If there is space between the side of the container and the foam, add the water in that space. If there is no space, you can either make some by pushing on the foam or inserting a pencil or similarly shaped object before adding water. Adding water daily will keep the foam from drying out.

For wearables such as rings and corsages, take a damp paper towel and place it in a container that will fit the wearable and will seal. Place the piece on the paper towel and add another damp paper towel on top. Seal the container and store in the refrigerator.

We want you to be able to enjoy your flowers for as long as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns.
